The 83E Round I Evaluation Team notified stakeholders that the Electric Distribution Companies have filed a letter with the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities regarding a change in the anticipated contract execution date. The contracting parties have not yet completed their contract negotiations and are now targeting the completion of negotiations and execution of contracts with the three counterparties on or before May 15, 2026.

Public comments were requested in response to the high-level draft guidance, issued July 31, 2025, regarding the participation of distribution-connected energy storage systems in the 83E Round 2 procurement. Stakeholders were invited to submit comments on the prompts posted in the attachment by August 28, 2025. To review comments and for additional details, click here.

In accordance with the 83E RFP for Long-Term Contracts for Energy Storage Projects, prospective bidders were allowed to submit written questions to the Evaluation Team pertaining to the solicitation. All questions were to be submitted to the Evaluation Team at maRFP83E@gmail.com no later than August 21, 2025. The Evaluation Team is under no obligation to answer any question submitted after August 21, 2025.
