On March 27, 2019 the Massachusetts distribution companies jointly submitted a request for approval of the 83C RFP to the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities.

The Electric Distribution Companies (“EDCs”) announced that they have filed, on July 31, 2018, long-term contracts with Vineyard Wind LLC for an 800 megawatt offshore wind generation project (“800 MW Vineyard Wind Project”) for review and approval by the Department of Public Utilities. The Vineyard Wind project was selected pursuant to the Section 83C Procurement.

Energy Services (U.S.) Inc. for the New England Clean Energy Connect 100% Hydro project (“NECEC Hydro”) for review and approval by the Department of Public Utilities. The NECEC Hydro project was selected pursuant to the Section 83D Procurement.

On April 25, 2018, the Distribution Companies informed the Department of Public Utilities that the Distribution Companies are in the final stages of contract negotiation pursuant to Section 83D of the Green Communities Act, as added by Chapter 188 of the Acts of 2016, An Act to Promote Energy Diversity.
