83C: Long-Term Contracts for the Vineyard Wind 800 MW Project Filed for DPU Approval

The Electric Distribution Companies (“EDCs”) announced that they have filed, on July 31, 2018, long-term contracts with Vineyard Wind LLC for an 800 megawatt offshore wind generation project (“800 MW Vineyard Wind Project”) for review and approval by the Department of Public Utilities. The Vineyard Wind project was selected pursuant to the Section 83C Procurement.

The Department of Energy Resources (DOER) today submitted a filing letter requesting that the Department of Public Utilities approve the above referenced long-term contracts for renewable resources pursuant to Section 83C.

83D: Long-Term Contracts for the New England Clean Energy Connect 100% Hydro Project Filed for DPU Approval

The Electric Distribution Companies (“EDCs”) announced today, July 23, 2018, that they have filed long-term contracts with Central Maine Power Company and H.Q. Energy Services (U.S.) Inc. for the New England Clean Energy Connect 100% Hydro project (“NECEC Hydro”) for review and approval by the Department of Public Utilities. The NECEC Hydro project was selected pursuant to the Section 83D Procurement.

83D Update on Negotiation Status

On April 25, 2018, the Distribution Companies informed the Department of Public Utilities that the Distribution Companies are in the final stages of contract negotiation pursuant to Section 83D of the Green Communities Act, as added by Chapter 188 of the Acts of 2016, An Act to Promote Energy Diversity.
